VOICE MAIL

Hello, you have reached the inbox of "-oh, wait, she's speaking to me? I had no idea machines had people inside of them this is simply amazi-BEEEEEP."
Please leave your message after the tone.
Please leave your message after the tone.
voice
[Huh. If this was the right number, then...]
Erm, why are you going to fight me, again?
voice
I don't think it's official just yet, but I hear you might be hunting Diva down depending on how things go. She recently hired me as her bodyguard, so that means we might have ourselves a little encounter!
voice
[Wait back up a second here.]
[BODYGUARD.]
[what]
[diva what have you done YOU HAVE GOT POOR INNOCENT PEOPLE TO FIGHT FOR YOU st least that is what cheriour thinks]
...Sir. [His tone is serious.] I assure you I will not be going after her if she doesn't hurt the people she is going after, and I highly recommend you go and terminate your contract with her immediately.
voice
[He gives a little sniff as he reclines in his seat, swivelling a little as he considers this warning.]
You do, do you? Well, that's not exactly how I do business, so I'm afraid I'm not about to follow your advice. That'd be terribly unprofessional of me, to back out of a contract like that. Think about the kinda reputation that'd get me!
voice
Well, I do apologize! But honestly, I don't want you to get hurt over the very personal matter me and Miss Diva are in. To be used as a weapon for others is quite the risky business, and even though you may know that, I just- I just want you to be safe, Mister Bodyguard.
[HE SOUNDS LEGITIMATELY CONCERNED OVER HERE]
voice
Oh... Well, to be honest, you shouldn't be so naive to sympathize with somebody you don't even know! I mean, after all, I went into this willingly, so it's only fair to say that what ever happens, it's what was intended, right? Besides, it's impossible for me to ever die, so what's a scratch or two?
voice
...[A slight "hmmmph".]
Still, it's not fair she's using you as a human shield. I see people who hide behind others as great cowards who are willing to risk other people getting hurt. And dying does occur in this place, don't think it doesn't...believe me, I know. Even when you return you know you still died.
voice
[Well... Claire meant that it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to die EVER. Like impossible impossible. The world would disappear if he died.]
You won't hear me disagreeing with ya, but if you're weak, you gotta play it smart. She's made the right choice in hiring a guy like me. She's invincible as long as she's handing over the money.
voice
[He sniffs.]
Mister Bodyguard, if I cannot persuade you to remove yourself from your task, then all I can say is be careful. Diva is weak, yes, but she's also a terribly vicious creature who will cut down anyone in her path if she wants to get something. Pray that you not be in that path when the time comes, and pray that you will not be in mine when that times comes, either.
voice
I haven't prayed to God since I was forced to go to church as a little kid. He just doesn't exist in my world, though that's not to say I'd be appreciative if he interfered my business. That'd be kind of rude of him, don't you think?
voice
[That is something he's can't forgive.]
Excuse me, sir. Let me correct you. God Created me with His own hands and has loved me ever since. He loves everyone of his creations, even those who don't believe in His Word or existence, like you. If you can't see that, then very well.
[His tone then turns as sharp as the sword he carries.]
But don't ever presume that I am but a pawn in His game. He doesn't have a game, and if He wants to show you the way, then you must let Him. He is my father no matter what. And I'm sorry you can't grasp the beauty in being devoted to someone and willing to do anything for them. I'm sorry that you don't have faith. Maybe one day you'll understand.
voice
[He'll leave it at that! He'll need to save his material for the day they meed in person!]
voice SORRY FOR THE LATENESS
[A "hmmph".]
I guess I'll see you around, mister...?
