[So, Cheriour basically places his bracelet in front of him, gives her a slightly horrified look, and does this:]

[With the leaving away from the screen and those exact words and everything. Congratulation, Diva, you have successfully grossed out an angel.]

[He'll be back when he's sure she's done, though.]

[Oh, you mean when she's literally rolling around on the bed she's lounging in laughing? Yes, that sounds right.]

[IS SHE DONE YET okay poking his head back into the screen again.]

[She sits up again, wiping tears away from her eyes]

Hey, Hey, Cherie, you're really cute sometimes! I had no idea you were such a prude.

[Well, no, she plops back down on the bed so that she's lounging, resting her head on her arms]

[He finally makes his way back to the place he was sitting on the bed, with his coat draped over his shoulders this time, as to hide the wound.]

Good. Because there are more serious things to talk about instead of your...escapades.

But they're not nearly as interesting. I have a lot more stories.

[She purses her lips] Go ahead, then. Ask.

[She's never really asked him to share in return, partially out of fear that she'll get attached.] But I bet you have a lot of other questions too. I left you with as many as I could.

[Which in the phrasing proves that she didn't plan to come back, but she doesn't realize that.]

I know you did. I've been thinking about what you said and did all night.

[He stares for a while at her, realizing that turn of phrase means. Huh. So it was not something of her doing.]

...Tell me this. Why the kiss? How did you know that would distract me?

[She's really glad that this is his first question, but it's unexpected. He was sure that she would want to pick the truths from the lies, but this is better than those. It tells her a lot about him]

I didn't know. I would say it was just a guess, but it wasn't quite that either.

[She giggles] Well I had no idea that you would react so strongly to seeing me earlier, but it's worked on a lot of people before. I'm beautiful, and men like me. And a kiss confuses people, because they think that I'm attracted to them and there's some possibility of something else.

That's worked on more people than I can count. Actually, I even let them have me before I rip out their heart, usually. But you're not the same. You're not interested in that, right?

[So that's what a kiss means, really. He now understands that she was trying to appeal to feelings that might be there. It had worked, for the most part, but only because Cheriour didn't understand what the gesture meant, and had reacted accordingly.]

No, I'm not, miss. Angels aren't exactly made for those sorts of things. Attraction is almost always platonic for us.

[Softly,] I would have loved to take you.

[But she's immediately back to bright and cheerful] Hey, but are you attracted to me, then?

[He's just clueless when it comes to this sex thing, okay. He shakes his head, looking somewhat confused.]

No. Why would I be? You're just one of the thousands of people I have killed over the last several thousand years.

[If Diva was prone to face-palming, she would. Oh Cherie, you're so clueless.]

But I'm different, right? Because I'm not afraid of you. Or... Because I'm not afraid of dying. I'm a jewel.

[HE IS THE MOST CLUELESS he probably thinks innuendo is some kind of painting style or something]

No, not really. Many people haven't been afraid of me. Some welcomed me with open arms.

[And then the side of his mouth twitches in a sort of smile.]

But yes, you are a jewel. In your own way. And not because of the dying part.

[Diva's honestly surprised to hear that, since that it where she assumed most of the interest came from. But that just makes the question more tantalizing.]

...Really? Ah, then Cherie, why am I a jewel to you?

[He laughs slightly, looking amused. He's actually still quite upset that his killing failed, but he has learned to hide his emotions well. It's not that Cheriour hides behind masks- it's that every single face he has is a mask, and even he doesn't know what is the true face. Who's the real Cheriour underneath all the smiles and grins and laughter?]

Why should I spoil the fun of telling you that? We have our secrets, don't we?

[Diva huffs, rolling her eyes dramatically. She half-expected that answer, but it's still frustrating.]

Fine, I get it. Ask me something else, then.

[There's a pause.]

They...you weren't lying about them, were you?

[And it's her turn to hide her emotions. Her tone and expression are neutral as she pushes away all the feelings that come with remembering her daughters. Every time, she can only hope that her death was enough, and that Nathan convinced Saya to not kill them. And when she thinks of that, she runs a hand through her hair idly, because she doesn't want to think what it means if he didn't.]

No. I wasn't.

[There's a beat, and she looks at him again.] And I really did die for them.

You died without knowing what would happen to them? How were you sure they wouldn't be killed like you were?

...And who was the father? This Amshel of yours?

I didn't. [The mask slips briefly as her lips quiver] But Saya, she's a good person. I don't think she could kill them. Even if she acts tough, she hates killing. She just hated me, so if I let her kill me, then she couldn't hate anyone else.

[It was a gamble, but it was a gamble full of so much background and complication. She was willing to die for them because she thought that if she died first, then Saya would spare them. But also, she wanted Saya to spare them, to see Riku's face in theirs and take care of them. Because if Amshel took care of them, they would grow up sad and lonely and used. Just like their mother.]

[But that part he didn't ask about.] After all, her little brother was their father. There's no way she would kill them if she just saw how beautiful they are.
