World History and Information
In the very beginning, there was God.
As God started to think about creating the world, he decided to bring forth a race that would help him in His endeavors. His first attempts were nothing like humans at all. In fact, they were more like winged sentient robots. But as God continued to experiment with them, he brought forth the half-machine angels and then the highest angels of them all, the archangels, winged creatures that were formed more like the human beings that would soon populate the Earth. All of these angels, even the most machine-like of them all, aided in the creation of Earth and basked in its glory, delighted to see what would come forth of this new world.
But when God decided to create Adam and Eve, one of the archangels grew jealous. How come these puny hairless creatures were deemed more true to the image of God than the archangels themselves? In that archangel's mind, the human beings were worthless compared to a celestial being like him. And when he was chided by his brethren and told to hold the humans in high esteem, he lashed back, deciding to abscond from Heaven and find a way to bring the humans down in any way he could.
This archangel's name was Lucifer.
And Lucifer didn't just sit for a few hundred years, oh no. He immediately began to work at forming his own world and army, taking refuge in the middle of the world, where it was hot and horrible and full of fire. He tempted Adam and Eve by taking control of a snake, and as humanity began expanding over the world, he turned some into the first demons, who would be used to taint the souls that God had given every human being. The first demons were very humanlike, but as time went on, Lucifer created demons that were nothing but distorted shadows, things that could slip inside a human being's brain and turn his thoughts for the worse. He hoped that as time went on, the human beings would corrupt themselves without his help, and God would have no choice but to destroy his precious creations.
The angels back up in Heaven were shocked by this turn of events, and tried to come back with strategies of their own. Some of them went around on Earth, trying to convince humans to be kinder and gentler, but by that time Lucifer already had his influence everywhere, in every single city. It was around this time that Cheriour was sent down to start to destroy those who had gone way past redemption, but the spread of evil was too much for one inexperienced angel to deal with.
So God made a decision, and warning a man named Noah ahead of time of what he was going to do, flooded the earth and destroyed all the tarnished human beings in one go.
Now the battlefield was even. The fight would start from scratch. Lucifer and God had their armies poised on Earth, and the struggle that would continue for years and years began. Angels interfered in any way they could, but for the most part kept their existence secret- they would poise as the guides of a great king, the men who started a revolution against a corrupt government, the writers who brought forth the problems of a company gone wrong. Some worked on a more individual scale, helping out people who would later become powerful, while others pushed the human race towards goodness in a more general way by influencing public opinion and spreading the Word of God. And Cheriour? Well, he continued the job he had been assigned to do before the Great Flood, as evil still remained in the world.
So, at first glance, Cheriour's Earth seems exactly the same as our Earth. There are still all the same continents and countries and animals, and events like World War II and the Great Depression still happened, but behind it all is a war that many people do not realize is happening. There are tales of people who performed miracles or did the impossible and later disappeared forever- and there are also tales of boogeymen who crawl into people's brains while they are asleep, or men who went far beyond evil and did things that would produce a chill in one's heart. But for the most part, they are just tales...except the tales are very true.
And in the present day, there is now an angel killer going about, destroying all the angels who are living down on Earth, and Cheriour needs to stop the killer before the playing field is changed and Lucifer gains the upper hand.
